This place is too cool an idea to let it die!

C'mon let's make this group cool and groovy again!!

Thoughts on "Toy Story 3"? On his fabulous son's series "The Good Guys"? On their awesome Twitter accounts? On "Larry Crowne"?

Come, I know there's twelve people still breathing, right?

RIGHT?

Forrest Gump 2 [15 Mar 2007|11:03pm]

Forrest Gump Gets A Sequel

It’s been thirteen years since Forrest Gump first ran into theaters, and now it looks like America’s favorite chocolate loving mental deficient may be back for a sequel. Forrest Gump II isn’t a new idea, Paramount has been kicking it around since the original movie made a bajillion dollars, and in 2001 they even hired Forrest Gump writer Eric Roth to pen a sequel screenplay.

An absolutely reliable, unfortunately anonymous source, contacted me tonight with the latest scoop on Forrest’s impending return. It seems that old 2001 Eric Roth screenplay is being dragged out of development hell for another look by Gump producers Steve Tisch and Wendy Finerman. Remember that the first Forrest Gump movie was based on a novel by Winston Groom. Roth’s sequel script was based on Groom’s followup novel, “Gump & Co”. “Gump & Co” takes place several years after “Forrest Gump” and finds Forrest’s shrimping business failed and Jenny dead, leaving Forrest a single unemployed father. As you’d expect, Gump still stumbles through more important historical events. In this case it’s a cavalcade of history from the 80s and 90s. He even meets Tom Hanks.

So, why didn’t Paramount make this five years ago when Roth first wrote the script? Apparently the project got bogged down in a big legal tiff between Groom, the book’s original author, and the studio. Groom claimed he wasn’t properly paid for Forrest Gump, and so refused to sell them the sequel rights to his other book. Evidently they’ve now worked it out.

The truly important question here is whether or not Tom Hanks will return. Our source says Finerman and Tisch are talking to him, but there’s nothing definitive yet. It is however likely that Gary Sinise will be back as Forrest’s battle damaged buddy Lt. Dan. If Tom can’t be talked into it, will they replace him? Word is they want this in theaters within the next couple of years, so while it’s possible, let’s hope they’re smart enough to scrap it if he’s not interested. No one does a better potty dance.

oh yes I guess I should mention my favorite Tom Hanks movies-well here they are-Big, Sleepless In Seattle, Green Mile, The Terminal-I loved the Terminal, The Burbs, Turner and Hooch, Money Pit, Forrest Gump, That Thing You Do-and probably others. One question-has anyone seen the Ladykillers w/ Tom Hanks?? How was it?

Hey, my name's Annah-i'm new to this community, this morning i've been looking around for a good sXe community, and I decided this one was awesome because of the name, I actually haven't read through any of the entries yet. But anyway I love Tom Hanks-and i'm definetly straight edge. i'm a sophmore in highschool-I know i'm young. But anyway I messed with drugs a little when I was jr high, those were tough years-but I realized drugs aren't the way to make it better. When I was in seventh grade I was somewhat of a pill popper and one time I even tried to OD, but it didn't work, I just ended up really sick and noone ever found out why. I got high off cough syrup once or twice and smoked for a while. Still I haven't ever been drunk or smoked pot-it still surprises me that I had never been able to get to that stuff then, when I know how easy it would be for me now. I also completely believe in abstinence til marraige, I think that's really important, but I also have kind of selfish concerns when it comes to that. But whatever, if you guys have any questions about me i'm all ears, I wasn't sure if I should go off topic and talk about my other interests too, some communities are kind of weird about that.

I abstain from sex (that's casual, unless it's with Tom Hanks), drugs, rock and/or roll, boozing because of him.
Tom Hanks is my hero.
Straight edge, this core, that core.
TOM HANKS.

It was the movie, BIG.

[ mood | admiring ]

As an aspiring actress, Tom Hanks is my biggest rolemodel.
I truly think that he is the best actor (male or female) in the history of film.
I love his diversity the most.
He can play anything.
He can make you laugh, or cry at any time he chooses to.
He can play award winning roles, or very simple roles that it seems any actor might be able to fill (like You've Got Mail).
The fact that he can do this makes me respect him more than just about any individual on the face of the planet.
I love to study his work. Watching the way he does everything to make each film the masterpiece it always is.
It is the little things I love the most.
Like in Saving Private Ryan when his hands tremble, the way he does it so naturally...
After watching that scene I went to the mirror and tried to replicate what he had done, only to face the realization that I could not do it even NEARLY as convincing as he had.
I plan to make acting my profession someday, and I know that my appreciation and admiration for Tom's work will make me a more well-rounded skillful person in the end.
And manage to keep me entertained for the time being!!

I don't think that I can be classified as straight-edge because of the fact that I am sexually active, but I think I am as close to it as you can possibly be since I am monogamous to my longtime boyfriend, who I know I will end up marrying. So the fact that he was my first and will be my only should eliminate the "non-straight-edgedness" of it :P.

I am happy I finally found a community who can recognize one of the greatest men of all time!

And to think, I thought I was the only one!!

Hi! [10 Jul 2002|05:59pm]

I'm Katy, and I love Tom Hanks! I'm not exactly a straight edge. I don't smoke or do drugs or anything illegal. I rarely have alcohol, and when I do, I sip the same drink all night. Also, I haven't had sex in 2 1/2 years. So, I'm somewhat close right? Anyway, I love Tom Hanks! He's such a versatile and wonderful actor. Even my email addy is ilovetomhanks@hotmail.com

Hee hee! Glad I found this group!
